REIKI

Reiki, which translates as “God’s wisdom” or “the Higher Power” (rei) and “life force energy” (ki, as in the Chinese “qi”), is a form of alternative medicine based on metaphysical concepts developed by Japanese Buddhist, Mikao Usui.  Reiki, a technique sometimes referred to as “palm healing” or “laying-hands-on healing,” is a safe and natural method of spiritual healing and self improvement, and is used to relax, reduce stress, and promote health and quality of life by increasing the life force energy that flows in all of us and keeps us alive.  And although spiritual in nature, Reiki is not a religion.  There is no dogma.  Reiki will work whether you believe in it or not, and it is not dependent on one’s intellectual capacity or spiritual development.  While Reiki is not a religion, its founder, Usui, encouraged the universally accepted ideal of promoting peace and harmony.  Usui pressed the importance of making a conscious decision and commitment to improving oneself to complete the Reiki healing experience.  In order for the Reiki healing energies to have lasting results, the client must accept responsibility for her or his healing and take an active part in it.
